The Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) Assistant Registrar reports to the HMSOM Registrar. The Registrar's Office serves students, faculty, staff and administration in the HMSOM. Priorities are excellent customer service to students and faculty, efficient and effective management of data and reporting, and simplicity and transparency of operations to facilitate the continued, planned, moderate growth of the student body in the HMSOM. The Assistant serves as the Registrar in the absence of the Registrar.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) Assistant Registrar at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Assist the Registrar in providing leadership in the daily operations of the office, and provide service to students, faculty, staff, external office visitors and agencies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Away Elective process including VSLO maintenance; application tracking; shepherding affiliation agreements; registration; and final grade processing.
  • Responsible for student enrollment in the Phase 3 Graduate Program option from application to graduation.
  • Maintain and continue to develop the student information system for the Office of the Registrar.
  • Oversee transcript issuance, student enrollment information requests, and all document processing.
  • Implement and improve registration procedures and systems.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Office of the Registrar website, including reviewing content and updating, and posting relevant, timely information.
  • Promote academic success through discipline and accountability.
  • Work closely with other HMSOM Offices toward successful reporting requirements to accreditors.
  • Adheres to the standards identified in HMH Organizational Competencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education, Information Systems or an area relevant to the position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the Registrar's Office or relevant college administrative office.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Information Systems or an area relevant to the position.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft.
