Machine Operator

We are seeking a self-motivated Machine Operator/Packer at our Erlanger, KY facility, minutes from Cincinnati, OH. Machine Operators run envelope machines that fold envelopes, and packs the envelopes coming off the machine. They also examine work orders to determine specifications have been met, as well as inspect product quality according to established quality guidelines,  packing envelopes uniformly and neatly, keeping up with the machine speeds. This role will perform both duties.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE
1st Shift 6:00am - 4:30pm.  2nd Shift 4:30pm - 3:00am + $0.75/hr 2nd shift premium
Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri (set schedule, not rotating).
Two paid 15-minute breaks and a half hour unpaid lunch. We work 4 10-hour days with 3-day weekends when overtime not needed. Even when overtime is needed you still have Saturdays and Sundays off, unless you opt for voluntary Saturdays!

Starting Rates $16.50 to $17.50 per hour based on previous experience, top rate is $18.60 per hour.

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?

• Operates all machines in manufacturing
• Examines work order to determine specifications and sample verification
• Inspects product quality according to quality guidelines
• Maintains accurate counts of envelopes to boxes, cartons, and skids
• Places die cut paper stacks onto feed of machine
• Checks order throughout course of production to ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging of product
• Assists in removing paper jams and preventative maintenance when scheduled
• Completes appropriate transactions to record labor, time and quantity
• Machine wash-ups and other cleaning duties

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Manufacturing experience preferred.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to stand for approximate duration of scheduled shift (minus paid breaks), lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasoning, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills for appropriate operations of the equipment.
