Position Summary:

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the definition, design, organization, and general oversight of all projects within the HR Information Systems (HRIS) portfolio. Facilitates project approval & prioritization decisions within the HR Governance process as it relates to HRIS resources and in alignment with the enterprise HR technology strategy and roadmap. Ensures that assigned initiatives are successfully transitioned to post-production support.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with HRIS teams to gather, record and report resourcing hours, timelines, change control, change management, communications, and deliverables to organizational business partners and stakeholders who have current or proposed projects requiring HRIS resources
  • Develops, manages, and reports on all aspects of program/project life cycle involving HRIS resources to facilitate accountability and delivery
  • Develops, drives, and maintains a detailed master project schedule with team input, including project roadmaps, milestones, metrics, cost estimates, communication plans and status reports
  • Identifies risks/gaps and creates risk mitigation plans to address
  • Works with HRIS leadership to assign individual responsibilities; manages tasks to meet milestones and deadlines
  • Collaborates with individual Project Managers (PM) to ensure their respective projects are on track. Works with leadership to ensure alignment and help remove roadblocks
  • In the absence of a PM, assumes or ensures delegation of PM tasks, to include:
    • Developing project documents according to standards including project charter, project plan and communication plans in collaboration with stakeholders and service providers
    • Presenting the status of the project, expected outcomes, and project risks to senior management and all defined stakeholders
    • Designing and implementing proper project monitoring to recognize and manage changes which impact the project portfolio
    • Managing integration of project financial information with corporate financials and procurement reporting systems
  • Collects information on a regular basis to create visual status updates to provide the latest information on HRIS resources and activities within applicable projects
  • Builds and sustains positive relationships across the organization through accountability, coaching, fostering growth and acting with integrity
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • PMP Certification
  • 4+ years working in a Project/Portfolio Management role
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong ability to work independently and be self-driven as it relates to workload, problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow or similar project management tool
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with visual project timelines working in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • 7+ years working in a Project/Portfolio Management role
  • Experience with ServiceNow Project Management
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Experience working in technical project environment
