We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and enhance the financial operations of our nonprofit organization in Miami, Florida. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who will oversee accounts payable, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management. The ideal candidate will collaborate with executive leadership to ensure compliance, deliver insights, and drive financial excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
• Oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Partner with program and development teams to create grant budgets and organizational financial plans.
• Conduct financial modeling and scenario planning to guide strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Controller to support annual audits and tax filings, including Form 990.
• Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies across all financial operations.
• Represent the finance department in cross-functional committees and contribute to organizational initiatives.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to inform strategic decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial management.
• Proven expertise in grant budgeting, fund accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing or supervising finance staff, particularly in accounts payable.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Blackbaud, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and values, with high ethical standards.
• Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement process improvements in financial operations.
