Description/Duties:

The Senior Systems Engineer will provide support to the NASA Human Landing System (HLS) Program Systems Engineering & Integration Office. The candidate will be assigned to the Requirements & Verification Team with a focus on verification activities across both program providers. A significant portion of the role will be reviewing Detailed Verification Objectives (DVOs) or Verification Events (VEs) submitted by HLS Providers. The candidate will work with Subject Matter Experts across the agency to review and disposition DVOs and VEs for the program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Degree in a STEM related field.
  • Must have 20+ years of experience.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Experience with implementing the systems engineering "V" model. Specifically, identifying/mapping Verification Events as it pertains to HLS Program baseline requirements.
  • Candidate must have experience with requirements specifications and developing traceability matrices.
  • Experience with spacecraft and/or launch vehicle systems/subsystems architecture is required.
  • Candidate must have experience with systems integration and verification activities.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering Processes and activities.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills is required.
  • Proficiency in Atlassian Tools (JIRA), Doors Next Generation (DNG), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to present data to Senior Program Managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on NASA related projects is desired.
  • Familiar with NASA's Systems Engineering processes.
  • Experience implementing systems engineering principles in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment to develop system-of-systems requirements via system/component trade studies and analysis.
  • Experience analyzing and documenting system of system behaviors to meet emerging needs using MBSE tools and principles.
  • Able to provide SE&I expertise and integration support through, Digital engineering ,MBSE, Functional Decomposition and mission model, Concept of operations, Requirements definition and traceability, Verification and validation, Physical Architecture Integration, Integration and discipline experts, T&V and Integrated design certification.
