Belay Technologies seeks a Senior System Engineer (SE) with strong Scrum Master skills to provide the engineering and project management for end-to-end data flows in support of the Data Transformation Solutions (DTS) TTO. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to elicit and refine requirements, schedule work breakdown to deliverables, document artifacts, and provide roadmaps and schedules for implementing end-to-end data flows, including transformation into a standard data model. The individual will form good customer relationships and reach out to external customers for requirements and understanding of the data and the data needs of the users. They will have a good understanding of the customer data flow architecture. They will work as a key contributor in a SAFe agile development environment.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:  

  • TS/SCI with Full Scope poly is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note  2) from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.  OR 
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience  (any Process Area).  
  •  OR a Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2)  from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.  
  • OR a PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an  accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience. 

*Note 1 – Examples of Qualified engineering fields include Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management. 

*Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.

Candidates are required to have the following skills:

  • Familiarity with enterprise data flow and data modeling
  • Efficient experience with Atlassian products such as Confluence and Jira
  • Good understanding of data flow processes
  • Understands system-to-system connections for data flow processes
  • Familiar with the data modeling system development life cycle
  • Knowledgeable of customer infrastructure, resources and deployment processes
  • Able to provide adequate status updates to senior leadership
  • Able to appropriately task team members based on priorities provided by leadership
  • Capable of aligning sprint priorities with the roadmap projections and goals
  • Familiar with SAFe Agile/Scrum ceremonies, iterative improvement and stepwise refinement
  • Able to capture meeting minutes, extract requirements and disseminate information to the team and stakeholders
  • Able to monitor and track action items and dependencies
  • Good organizational and documentation skills
  • Able to work with the customer to recommend priorities based on team load, abilities, mission goals, requirements and deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to appropriately assess team load and capacity and make projections based on team velocity

Desired Skills:

  • SAFe or Scrum Master certification
  • Prior proven experience as a Scrum Master
  • Willingness to teach, coach and guide the team in agile best practices
