Job Title: Boiler Operator Back-Up: Maintenance Supervisor Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Position Description: As a boiler operator, it is your responsibility to monitor and operate systems and equipment, perform adjustments, observe factors such as temperature and pressure, write daily records, and replace equipment parts as needed. You will also maintain the cleanliness of areas, keeping supplies always organized, along with safety inspections and records keeping responsibilities. Salary : $18.00 per hour Responsibilities Accurately observe pressure, temperature, and draft meters Observe boiler and auxiliary units to detect malfunctions and make all necessary repairs Maintain opacity log and gauge readings and record data The ability to troubleshoot boiler operations issues Load and drive trucks and trailers with scrap wood and sawdust Check silo dust levels from top of silo Safely and accurately feed boiler chemicals The ability to maintain buildings and grounds Willingness to act as property security after hours The ability to work rotating swing shifts and to be on call All Qubica AMF employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or manager. Required Education, Experience and Skills Ability to read basic instruction and safety manuals Ability to count and do simple addition and subtraction Valid drivers license Must pass a respirator Fit Test Ability to confidently climb silo stairs General mechanical ability Basic computer skills Demonstrated self motivation and the ability to work independently Preferred Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED Good troubleshooting skills Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment Boiler experience a plus Working Conditions Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands. Ability to frequently handle material from floor to waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying. Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
