Order#: NY1496355 Association Maintenance Technician Description Monday through Friday - Flexible Hours! $26-$28 per hour plus a generous benefit package Under the direction of the Vice President of Properties, the Maintenance Technician will work directly with the Director of Facilities to provide maintenance support to all the Association locations. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image, and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform mechanical repairs and tasks (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting etc.) at all locations throughout the Association. Perform preventative maintenance on Association equipment. Ensure properties are maintained at full compliance with building codes and regulatory agencies. Work with department staff to ensure preventative maintenance measures are in place and in working order and perform tasks as necessary. Construction restoration projects such as painting and plastering. Assist and work with branch building and grounds staff in various repairs and maintenance. Participate in special workday events, i.e. Day of Caring, shutdowns etc. Work closely with the Director of Facilities on various operational issues to include troubleshooting repairs and preventative maintenance. Ensure timely facility and equipment repairs, as well as maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness. May occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, such as extended hours to include evenings/weekends to meet deadlines. Attend all required meetings and trainings. Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and be cleared by the YMCA to operate YMCA vehicles and equipment. Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in building maintenance with a skilled background in one or more of the various trade disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry). Must have the ability to operate maintenance equipment or willingness to acquire the necessary skills. Must possess strong organizational skills as well as excellent communication skills. Must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with fellow staff members. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes. Ability to move within the building including movement from floor to floor and outside the building. Ability to travel to all YMCA of Greater Rochester locations as necessary. Ability to consistently stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 75 pounds on a repetitive basis. May be exposed to chemicals using universal precautions as part of the daily operational duties.
