Job Description	SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY FOOD SERVICES is currently hiring!! Interviews scheduled quickly! Full-time, part-time positions available. Come join our Food Service team by applying on-line now! Syracuse University is seeking to hire part-time and full-time temporary food service workers for various positions, such as: Cashiers, Snack Bar Helpers, Cook Helpers, Pizza Makers, Storeroom Attendants, Food Handlers and Catering Event Helpers. Assignment may change daily. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and a minimum of 25 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week likely, immediately upon hire, during the academic year.
Qualifications	High school diploma and GED highly preferred The ability to read, write and follow instructions The ability to count cash, and communicate well with the public Ability to use a calculator and food thermometer Prefer at least 3 months of previous food service experience or related customer service such as retail.
Job Specific Qualifications	Reliable transportation is a must, buses may not run late enough for some shifts Follow instructions and established procedures to perform duties Must be reliable Excellent customer service.
Responsibilities	Prepare a variety of simple foods, casseroles, convenience foods, etc. Clean and prepare lettuce and other ingredients to make salads. Make french fries, hot and cold sandwiches, coffee, cook eggs, omelets, burgers, etc. Slice meat, cut cake, pie, etc. Serve food on a serving line, including sandwich bars, hot lines, salad bar, etc. Balance and reconcile cash to cash register tapes. Maintain cashier islands, including restocking condiments, cleaning tables, chairs, etc. Prepare assorted fresh dough pizzas according to franchise specifications. Receive stock, and check deliveries against order forms and delivery documents. Move items from storage areas to kitchen as directed. Wash dishes, cooking utensils, counter space, etc.; observe safety and health regulations, and maintain highest standards of sanitation.
Physical Requirements	On a daily basis standing, bending, stooping, walking, lifting between 15-50 pounds. Must be able to work with dust, fumes, and solvents daily.
Tools/Equipment	You will learn to operate a variety of equipment, such as a grill, deep fryer, convection oven, steamer, dish washer, deck ovens, mixer, steam kettle, tilt brazier, buffalo chopper, charcoal broiler, coffee maker, juice machines, etc.
