Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Maintenance Technician for BorgWarner in Hazel Park, MI who will be responsible for providing technical support and resources to manufacturing and engineering processes and equipment. The Technician must ensure that the equipment and processes are maintained at the highest level of safety, quality, efficiency, productivity. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing and repairing systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

Required Skills & Experience

* Experience with basic handling of robots -- specifically Kuka

* Troubleshooting experience - electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic system components, such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and solenoids.

* Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics

* Working knowledge of tools, and devices such as torque guns, volts meters

* Ability to use hand and power tools

* Experience troubleshooting controls circuitry (AC/DC power supplies, relays, motors / servos) is required



* Troubleshoots automated equipment failures to determine necessary upgrades and/or repairs

* Read and understand equipment manuals and electrical schematics

* Documentation of the activities carried out and the results of work

* Work with Controls/Manufacturing Engineers to develop equipment and controls for new products as well as improving existing equipment (cycle time, scrap reduction, improved quality, etc)

* Perform preventive maintenance as assigned which includes but is not limited to repair, diagnose, clean, lubricate, upgrade manufacturing equipment, glue dispensing equipment, plasma treat equipment, slide actuators, hoist, conveyors, etc.

* Provide support to troubleshoot and recover any problem with robots on the production line

* Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment

* Performs other related duties as assigned

* PLC experience
