POSITION TITLE: Cook Full-Time REPORTS TO: Direct Supervisor
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As a team member, oversee food service, ensuring cost effectiveness and
compliance with standard health and safety practices.
Assume the daily preparation of the noon and evening meals. Daily maintain a
clean and orderly kitchen.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure hospitable, pleasant and respectful greetings to all who enter the
kitchen.
Work as a team with the other full time cook and direct supervisor with
bimonthly meetings.
Foster good communication with all involved parties: supervisors,
leadership, sisters, staff and guests.
Maintain a clean and orderly environment throughout the kitchen and food
storage areas.
Promote a quiet atmosphere realizing this is a monastic community that values
a quiet environment.
This means no radios/music in the kitchen, only ear buds from a
portable device in a pocket.
Reverently handle and care for all equipment to ensure long use and a quiet
atmosphere for the Sisters.
Work with a positive attitude and be able to take constructive criticism as a
tool in learning
