Status: This is a full-time, hourly job;

Hours: Monday-Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Fridays: 5:00 AM – NOON; Overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY: As our Wash Line Operator, you will be responsible for washing and thoroughly inspecting granite memorials to ensure customer quality and design specifications are met.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Reading and interpreting production tickets to verify work has been completed according to order specifications
Operating the overhead crane to move granite memorials as necessary
Removing stencils, glues, and blasting silage mixtures from memorial stones; may require the use of solvents, brushes, and razor blades
Thoroughly washing all granite memorials; adhering to safety protocol as required by using appropriate personal protective equipment
Verifying finished granite memorials
Matching design criteria; this requires the ability to identify stone colors accurately
Repairing minor imperfections, defects, or mistakes caused during production
Inspecting stone for defects (e.g., incorrect spelling, wrong tone, cracks, chips, scratches, poor finish, etc.)
Coordinating and routing memorial to the correct area of production once it has been cleaned and inspected
Understanding general and job-specific stone colors, characteristics, quality, and appearance criteria to meet job requirements.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production
Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on time management, improving efficiencies and exercising independent judgment to determine work priority and urgency
Mechanically inclined
General math skills
Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings.
Ability to read a tape measure, imperial and metric
Work as a self-motivated team member who adheres to all safety protocols and is willing to cross-train as needed
