Product Engineer, Product Lifecycle and Technical Operations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with computing, networking, or cloud product
  • Experience analyzing data to improve manufacturing processes
  • Experience with PC or server system, functional, and board level development and validation

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
  • Experience supporting products with Contract Manufacturer, Original Design Manufacturer, and/or Joint Design Manufacturer partners
  • Presentation experience with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Data Center GPU and Machine Learning related product
  • Capable of generating product-specific test plans and executing testing accordingly
  • Willingness to travel

About the job

As a Product Engineer, you will evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools, and procedures behind Google’s search technology. You will collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full factory support for server/storage boards and assemblies including go/no-go approval, plans for production ramp, test readiness, and change management.
  • Perform engineering validation and sign off of all server/storage product and software/firmware changes.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to improve product quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate engineering initiatives across quality, manufacturing, mechanical, and partner engineering teams.
  • Engage with product design engineering teams to drive improvements on future server/storage hardware solutions.
