Overview

We are looking for a Chef/Cook for our senior living community in River Falls, WI.  This culinary role is responsible for dining room meal service to our residents and maintaining supplies in the kitchenettes for our Assisted Living/Memory care.

 

This casual.on-call nutrition services schedule includes; 

  • 0 hours every two weeks
  • On call /casual hours,  evening shifts
  • Weekends as needed

Opened Spring of 2023, The Sycamore of River Falls is a growing, full-service senior living community with 84 apartments including 68 blended independent and assisted living and 16 memory care apartments in a secured neighborhood on first floor. The property has four villa patio twin home units with two bedroom and three bedroom options for active, independent seniors. The apartment building consists of a variety of studios, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom units. The underground parking garage has 50 parking stalls, maintenance rooms, and residents’ storage area.

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes 
  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards. 
  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents 
  • Set up line service 
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use 
  • Assists with special events 
  • Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date 
  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications 
  • Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills 
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older  

Preferred:  

  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree 
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred 
  • Cooking experience in a similar environment  
  • Scratch cooking experience
