NY1495633 Technical Assistant - Airframe & Powerplant (PT) Salary: $20.00 per hour Mohawk Valley Community College provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. We are currently seeking a part time Technical Assistant in our FAA Approved Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Program. This program is housed exclusively at the state-of-the-art, MVCC Aviation Training Center located on the airfield at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, NY. The Technical Assistant assists the primary instructor in the lab and classroom and with running/supervising hands-on aircraft maintenance training exercises. They also assist with overall program equipment upkeep. Key responsibilities for this position include: Assists all teaching staff with required lab projects; Performs all regular housekeeping duties in the Aviation Training Center (ATC); Maintains ATC training equipment in working order as needed; Ensures all safety items in hangar are in working order. Assists with program marketing/ recruiting efforts; Answers or triages incoming phone calls; Explains the A&P certificate program and answers general aviation maintenance questions for inquiring callers; Accurately maintains required student academic files to meet FAA regulations as needed; Performs other duties as needed per the Director or faculty needs. Successful candidate must be available to work up to 29 hours per week. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings One (1) year minimum of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree Three (3) years' experience in aircraft maintenance Teaching experience Special Instructions to Applicants: Must be able to provide FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
