Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls Housing Authority. Temporary Maintenance Worker. Distinguishing features of the class: This position is responsible for performing a variety of work and semi-skilled building maintenance related tasks including routine maintenance, cleaning and servicing of rental properties, related equipment and facilities. The maintenance worker may be required to perform or assist in semi-skilled installation, maintenance or repair work under the direct supervision of a Maintenance Mechanic or higher level supervisor. Work assignments result from oral and written instructions, and work orders. Typical work activities: * Performs general building and grounds cleaning tasks; * Maintains buildings and grounds; * Performs trash removal and operation of trash compactor; * Performs floor maintenance and repair, cleaning, stripping, and waxing of floors including the operation of floor maintenance equipment; * Removes snow as necessary; * Assists in the installation of floor tile and cove base; * Assists in inspection of properties; * Assists in a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled work including painting and patching walls, replacing light bulbs, and replacing suspending ceiling tiles; * Assists in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry and heating repairs; * Adheres to all safety precautions ***Residency requirement necessary.
