Role:
Responsible for providing direct support to the Marketing Department to accomplish the goals/strategies set forth in the credit union's strategic plan. Assists with implementation of promotions and campaigns, representing the credit union at community events. Films/produces videos for the credit union, creates and schedules content for social media platforms, develops communications and content for various platforms (releases, events, and campaigns, etc.). Assists with maintaining the credit union's website. Organizes, monitors and orders marketing materials to maintain adequate supply.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Assists in writing, developing and editing credit union communication and public relations materials; ensuring style and brand consistency. (examples include: fliers, press releases, emails, newsletter content, blogs, etc.)
  • 20% - Assists the Marketing Department with implementation of advertising and promotional campaigns. Represents the credit union at various virtual, on-location, community and branch events.
  • 20% - Creates and effectively schedules content for multiple social media platforms. Monitors performance and reports.
  • 15% - Work within and across all departments/branches to plan, film, edit and produce video content for credit union products, services, departments/branches and events.
  • 10% - Assists with updating the credit union's website.
  • 10% - Performs administrative tasks to support the Marketing Department, including organizing and monitoring marketing materials to maintain adequate inventory. Fulfills branch and staff requests for marketing materials. Provides additional support to other members of the Marketing Department as needed.
  • 5% - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. Assists with implementing advertising and promotional campaigns for the credit union.
  2. Writes, revises and edits copy and content for advertising materials, forms, emails, letters, newsletters, website and social media platforms.
  3. Work within and across all departments/branches to plan, film, edit and produce video content
    for credit union products, services, departments/branches and events.
  4. Assists with maintaining the credit union's website by monitoring Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Accessibility reports as well as utilization trends. Works within department to make content changes as necessary.
  5. Supports e-marketing and social networking initiatives including website content and design updates and email marketing initiatives. In addition, responsible for supporting the credit union's various social media network accounts, posting updates and responding to posts as appropriate.
  6. Assist in coordinating activities between the credit union and multiple marketing and printing agencies. Maintain a constant check on in-progress materials.
  7. Maintains portfolio of completed campaigns, advertisements and press releases with samples of all marketing pieces.
  8. Assists with maintaining marketing supplies and inventory controls. (Logo'd shirts, promotional items, brochures etc.)
  9. Completes branch merchandising, replacing promotional materials as needed and distributes promotional materials to employees and branches.
  10. Assist with coordinating credit union events and seminars.
  11. Assists as needed with scheduling appointments, returning telephone calls, typing correspondence, and preparing reports and documents.
  12. Promote and cross-sell services offered by the Credit Union.
  13. Handle member and employee inquiries about promotional and marketing programs.
  14. Ensure all Credit Union material is "on brand" and presents a positive and consistent image.
  15. Carry out assigned responsibilities with minimum number of errors according to established department standards.
  16. Travels to branches and community locations to support marketing initiatives and events.
  17. Assists in taking photos during Credit Union events.
  18. Participate in training and professional development activities to acquire and maintain standards established by the credit union. This could include attending conferences, seminars and workshops as directed by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of similar or related experience in a marketing, public relations or sales role. Credit Union or Banking experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premier is required.
  • Experience managing business/organizational social media accounts preferred.

Education

  • A two year college degree in Marketing, Communication or Business field; or,
  • Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or,
  • Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contact become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.

Other Skills

  • Requires some knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies, usually acquired through continuing education or work experience in marketing or sales related field.
  • Prior experience managing or updating website content using a Content Management System (CMS) is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and editing skills are required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience using the English language. Requires knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and proper grammar and punctuation.
  • Requires well-developed interpersonal skills for communications involving contacts inside and outside of the credit union.
  • Experience and knowledge of multiple forms of social media platforms required.
  • Requires basic mathematical skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally requires lifting, carrying and moving objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required occasionally.
  • Repetitive finger movements to perform typing or otherwise working with paper files and documents.
  • Requires close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures; view a computer terminal; read and assess work quality.

Work Environment

  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • State of Pennsylvania residency required.
