Role Overview

The Analyst, Insights Management will work closely with the Senior Manager to maintain our syndicated data including product hierarchy, item placement and vendor oversight. This role develops monthly communications, coordinates training sessions, and leads all syndicated data projects for their categories. They will work closely with Brand Analytics, Category Development, Consumer Insights and Customer Analytics teams to gather feedback on custom database hierarchy and structure, and play an integral role in helping the Company achieve objectives by becoming an indispensable strategic business partner for all users of syndicated data tools within the Newell organization.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Extensive Data Understanding

  • Act as subject matter expert in assigned categories to answer any syndicated data questions from across the organization.

  • Serve as the expert on the use of syndicated data tools to assist users with creating reports and building insights to match their strategy

Database Maintenance

  • Guide the annual review of custom category hierarchies to identify changes and improvements to align with Newell’s strategy

  • Maintain database integrity through regular auditing at all levels of the hierarchy

  • Review new items monthly to ensure proper attribution in the custom hierarchies

  • Update custom hierarchy documentation with any new attributes, item placement rules or changes made to a database

Training & Communication

  • Send monthly newsletters to effectively communicate syndicated data news including database updates, hierarchy changes and training dates

  • Assist with Sharepoint site management for both our vendors and internal users

  • Coordinate trainings for data tools, data interpretation and other syndicated data topics

  • Lead small group and 1on 1 training sessions for data tools & data interpretation

Vendor Management

  • Maintain a collaborative team environment with vendors

  • Participate in regular project review meetings with vendors

  • Work with vendors to manage distribution and maintenance of 450+ IDs across multiple tools

  • Demonstrate effective problem solving for issues related to vendor tools and data

  • Manage budget and financial documentation for vendor contracts

Project Management

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines

  • Manage flow of information and requests from Sr. Management, Brand Analytics, business segments, etc.

  • Utilize online productivity tool to manage and prioritize tasks and resources effectively

Key Skills:

  • Ability to build strong sustainable business relationships at all levels and functions of the organization

  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Attention to detail across large data sets and with everyday tasks

  • Convey complex issues with excellent communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (emphasis in Analytics/Business/Statistics or related field)

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience (experience in Category Management or Sales Analytics is a plus)

  • Strategic thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.

  • Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Excellent organizational skills, presentation skills, problem solving and attention to detail

  • Familiarity with syndicated data, measures and software (e.g. Circana (NPD/IRI), Nielsen, GFK) is a plus but not required
