Primary Purpose of Position
Director for Parking & Transportation Services 008085

The Director of Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for the development, planning, implementation and administration of a comprehensive parking and transportation program for NC A&T State University campus. 

This position will be involved in the development, planning and implementation of parking and transportation policy and programs while providing strategic organizational leadership; fiscal oversight; strategic planning and operational implementation; business management; and policy development and recommendations to achieve goals and objectives. 

This position must analyze the University parking inventory and utilization, developing options and plans for compliance and balance for both the parking and transportation operations.

Due to the nature of services provided, the Director works closely with our business partners, Housing and Residence Life, Athletics, Police and Public Safety, Disability Services and other aspects of the campus community. 

Responsible for developing and implementing long-range parking facility renovations, and maintenance and equipment replacement plans; provides strategic direction for operations and revenue generation; responsible for personnel management (hiring, supervision, evaluation, professional development) and represent Parking and Transportation Services and Campus Enterprises on various committees, task forces and local, state, regional and national organizations. 

Also, is responsible for adjudication of difficult cases, appeals process and resolving customer complaints.

Parking Services manages the university’s parking resources by providing campus access to the campus community, visitors and our guests.

Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Urban or Transportation Planning, Public Administration or related field or a Bachelors degree with 2 or more years of experience
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
1. At least seven (7) years of progressive Parking & Transportation management experience with at least five (5) in a University setting
2. Experience with transportation demand management (TDM)
3. Experience with parking management software and creation of ad hoc reports
4. Project Management certification and/or experience with design and construction of parking structure and lots
5. Process improvement certification or experience
6. Experience with sustainability initiatives with relation to Parking & Transportation Services
Required License or Certification
Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP)
Certified Parking Professional (CPP) by NPA
