Position Summary |
SUNY Geneseo invites applications for the position of Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IR&E) to lead the Office of IR&E, serving as a resource in evidence-based planning, policy formation, and decision making, and working with faculty, staff, and administration across all divisions of the college. The IR&E Director regularly administers and/or serves as a consultant for all institutional surveys (e.g., NSSE) to support the college’s institutional effectiveness and assessment work and is responsible for the college’s SUNY SIRIS, NYSED, IPEDS, and NCAA data submissions, as well as responding to required and college-wide accreditation-reporting and publisher-data (e.g., U.S. News, Princeton Review) requests. The Director directs a management information program designed to provide data for administrative decision-making, which includes maintaining public- and campus-facing dashboards relevant to enrollment, student success, faculty workload, and other campus operations. The Director manages a continuous improvement model using assessment of the college’s academic programs and administrative services while simultaneously satisfying external accreditors, state and federal agencies, and external marketing sources. The Director of IR&E collaborates with campus colleagues on operations including assisting department leaders in planning appropriate evaluation measurements; analyzing and sharing information about the College; supporting decision-making, planning, and reporting; assisting with accreditation processes; providing leadership and coordination for institutional effectiveness activities; and supporting the College’s strategic planning process. The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness reports to the Provost, and serves on the Academic Affairs Leadership Team, which is responsible for advising and setting a broad strategic agenda for the Division of Academic Affairs. This position is also a standing member of multiple cross-campus committees responsible for strategic planning and institutional assessment and accreditation. |
