Work closely with the Gymnastics Coordinator on the development, implementation and daily operations of the competitive team program. Assist with the continual evolution of the gymnastics recreation curriculum Assist with team evaluations Assist with competitive team coaching responsibilities including practice schedules, meets, evaluations and family communication. Job Description: |
Alexandria Public Schools Community Education offers a wide variety of youth and adult programs throughout the year. Community Education’s Alexandria Area Gymnastics Program is looking for a full time, skilled coach with strong communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications 3 years of gymnastics coaching experience, including competitive team coaching Experience with all aspects of tumbling and apparatus, teaching children, and organizing classes Strong spotting skills required in all events Proven experience communicating effectively with parents and children Visual/auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures The physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills CPR/AED, both Adult & Infant/Child, and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
