The Air Force has over 60 bases stateside and several bases throughout Europe and Asia. If you're married and assigned overseas, depending on the location and restrictions, in most cases you can take along your family.

SERVICE COMMITMENT:
Enlisted Airmen have the option of either a four-year or six-year commitment.

DEPLOYMENTS:
During your time in the Air Force you may deploy to locations around the world in support of contingencies such as combat operations and humanitarian missions. Deployments can last from a few weeks to a year or more.

Air Force bases are like small communities with amenities and services that enhance your quality of life.

If you're enlisted and single, you'll live on base for free and enjoy free meals in the Airmen's dining facility, which is similar to a family-style restaurant. Enlisted dormitories provide the comforts of home such as private rooms with TV and internet capabilities as well as common area kitchenettes. Single officers usually live off base.

If you're married you'll qualify to either live in base housing or in the local community. If you choose to live off base you'll receive a monthly tax-free housing allowance.
