POSITION:

Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Columbus, Ohio

The opportunity

This position is primarily responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, maintenance, and continuous improvement of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products for achieving zero defects. As such keeping quality oversight and accountability for all site quality aspects.

Responsible for the Quality management at ADB Safegate Americas covering:

Quality management systems certification

Business Excellence & Continuous process improvement

Quality performance monitoring & reporting

Quality documentation management

Customer complaint handling, escalation, and moderation

Risk management

You will make an impact by....

Quality, Environment and H&S management systems certification

System maintenance, migration to new versions, integration and global harmonization incl. planning and coordination activities.

Organize, lead and host external audits by third-partiesthird parties (certification bodies, customers, etc.)

Internal audits of implemented processes (including the branches) to maintain the quality system integrity and coherence, its documentationdocumentation, and the evaluation of its efficiency.

Ensure relevant KPI targets are met.

Ensure the communication and awareness about the systems' processes and topics, about the related risk management, about customer requirements as well as on the regulatory and legal requirements.

Oversee Product/Process Audits to verify products are manufactured and inspected in accordance with standards.

Business Excellence & Continuous process improvement

Analyze existing business processes to find risks and opportunities to determine root causes.

Drive change across the organization and act as internal advisor to support departments. Incorporating Six Sigma Using quality tools and practices, the goal is to facilitate progress and reduce costs, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, customer and user experience.

Coordinate and lead projects for improvement across the organization.

Monitor progress of corrective actions in order toto check if changes yield desirable results.

Quality performance monitoring & reporting

Produce monthly reports of key KPI (i.e. NCC (non conformance costs), CAR closure rate, audit adherence, etc.).

Communication of the site Quality performance with the management team and driving continuous improvement via corrective action follow-up.\

Quality documentation management

Develop and maintain the Quality portal hosting the global QHSE management systems.

Liaise with global QM workgroup for definition and implementation of global guidelines, rules and structure.

Review and eEditor in Chief approval level quality documents prior to release.

Customer complaint handling, escalation and moderation

Active support & participation in root cause analysis of complaints and non-conformances originating from the Columbus site

Drive reactive- & preventive activities throughout the site in order toto achieve Zero Defects

8D process owner to coach & challenge 8D team leaders, both on content as on structure, to ensure that the company's overall maturity of running 8D methodology increases year on year

Facilitates global 8D-cockpit, incl. moderation, agenda and documentation

Has the overview of all major quality cases reported by (internal) customers

Ensures that all major issues (see classification) are addressed in correct manner (8D-method, reporting, ownership, team set-up,...), either on global or on local level

Liaises with all departments to get things going (again)

The talent we want to inspire has..

Bachelor or master degree in a technical / engineering field (four-year college or university)

8-10 years of experience working within a manufacturing facility in a Quality function or in a business- / process excellence lead function.

5+ years of experience supervising or managing people

Proven experience in process improvements and projects

International project / process experience in quality subjects of foreign countries and companies

Airfield / Aviation general knowhow and terminology

Good understanding of a broad range of business processes, including product development, manufacturing, sales & marketing, finance, and customer service.

ISO 9001-14001- OHSAS 18001 & related standards

Knowledge about quality tools & statistics (8D, PDCA, 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, SPC, CTQ's, Cpk,...).

Knowledge and experience with APQP & PPAP
