Advertising Industry Relations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Candidates will typically have 8 years of experience experience in advertising, tech, and trade associations and experience with the European advertising public policy landscape
  • Experience working within the advertising industry, industry relations, external affairs, or public policy function of a company
  • Experience with public speaking and giving presentations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in the field of advertising compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or digital advertising and data privacy more broadly.
  • Knowledge of all Google paid and free tools.
  • Knowledge and interest in data privacy and advertising.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and either French or German fluently in order to support relationships with public policy organizations.

About the job

As an Advertising Industry Relations Manager, you'll combine creativity with the organizational skills to manage numerous different projects to tight deadlines all at once. You will support in building and managing external relationships with select pan-European industry trade organizations, regulators, thought leaders, and policy-shapers in Brussels. Additionally, you will work with Public Policy, PR, Marketing, and Sales leads in Brussels, to help develop and coordinate communications and strategy to ensure Google is playing its role in the advertising industry.

You will be expected to understand the dynamics of the advertising industry in Brussels and support Google Public Policy teams in maintaining a line of communication with industry groups on key topics.

The Google Global Industry Relations team ensures Google cultivates strong relationships with the most influential industry trades bodies across the Globe. Through our partnerships, we promote Google’s key business and policy objectives and support the long term growth of the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Map, manage, and cultivate relationships with Brussels based industry trade associations, industry groups, and regulators.
  • Coordinate local strategy and priorities within a pan-EMEA Google Industry Relations strategic approach. 
  • Engage with industry thought-leaders to ensure they understand our company and recognize our commitment to the communities we serve. 
  • Contribute to and shape content at key industry events within Brussels to strengthen relationships with organizations and the businesses they serve, including writing briefing documents for Google Leaders for Industry events.
  • Monitor and research relevant emerging community and local policy issues.
