Education/Accredited Programs
- Baccalaureate Pathologist’ Assistant program graduate; or successful completion of a post-bachelor’s program from an NACCLS approved school of Pathologist’ Assistants
- Post-Baccalaureate training in anatomic and clinical pathology preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pathology – surgical gross pathology, frozen section cutting, and autopsy.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
- New York State licenses Pathology Assistant
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
Skills/Abilities
- Develop and maintain computer skills needed for electronic communication, including the Cerner Pathnet system and Dragon dictation system. Develop and use skills related to the use of the intranet and internet to search for information.
- Understand and utilize statistical software to effectively manage and evaluate technical data.
- Generate information and summary reports using statistical and decision-making tools.
- Specify and utilize computerized tools for the selection and interpretation of laboratory testing.
- Maintain LIS and procedures to ensure clinicians receive laboratory data in a timely and useful manner.
- Design and implement reports that present patient data in a clinically useful format

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $41.61 to $62.42 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
