Job Summary

 

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Communications Coordinator. This position is responsible for collection, assessment and distribution of internal and external news agencywide.

  • Serves as a writer, editor and content manager for the employee intranet, DCT Today
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an editorial calendar, assigning, writing, editing stories for daily publication, and using Tridion, the agency’s web content management system, to publish stories.
  • Updates and manages content on DCT’s public-facing website
  • Supports DCT’s Communications team by developing presentations, fact sheets, talking points, issue and event briefs, and other communications materials as assigned.

Please note: This position is primarily telework with a need to occasionally travel to attend meetings or visit program sites throughout Minnesota. This team is currently teleworking; however, this may change in the future with notice.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience developing written content for a business, nonprofit or government agency demonstrating the following:

  • Planning, composing, and editing   content for the web and other platforms including social media, digital newsletters, etc. 
  • Web content management, website usability, and familiarity with website content management systems.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Ability to conceive, develop and deliver a desired message effectively and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively within deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in communications for large organizations.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal laws related to content accessibility and equal access to information.
  • Ability to take and edit photos and video
  • Experience using the GovDelivery email marketing platform
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related degree

Copies of the college degree/diploma are acceptable ONLY if it clearly identifies the field in which it was earned. 

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.
