Aircraft mechanics (Mech II) shall possess the following Experience and Qualifications:

14 CFR 65 Certificated Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic

A minimum experience of 3 years maintaining SD3-60 (Sherpa) aircraft.  At least 1 year of the experience must be within the last 5 years.  OR will accept 2 years documented OJT maintaining SD3-60 (Sherpa) within in the past 2 years.

Documented experience and/or training in Pratt & Whitney (Canada) P&6A-65AR Engine.

Documented training and/or experience showing the ability to rig, function test and troubleshoot SD3-60 systems.  Data to show this shall be in the form of training certificates and/or OJT (On the Job Training) records or other data acceptable to the government.

Capable of performing satisfactorily performing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance assigned including:

Interface with USFS personnel in a cooperative manner

Follow all Federal facility policies and procedures.

Perform proper techniques, methods of operation, and safety practices for aircraft and equipment used.

Work with the Lead Mechanic and USFS employees to resolve problems.

Responsible for the completion of all scheduled and unscheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft under the contract in accordance with the Forest Service direction

Review aircraft status sheets to accomplish aircraft maintenance IAW the aircrafts maintenance program and applicable technical publications.
