Various locations and hours in Nassau and Suffolk counties. TITLE: Assistant Residence Manager (ARM) SUPERVISOR: Residence Manager Department: Residential Salary Range: $19hr - $21hr Job Summary: The Assistant Residence Manager is responsible for assisting the Residential Manager with the day-to-day operations of the residence and to act as manager in his/her absence. RESPONSIBILITIES: E- Connotes Essential Functions E-1 Implements IGHL personnel policies consistently and trains staff regarding IGHL personnel protocols. This includes interviewing staff, adjusting schedules, approving time off, etc. with manager or when manager is off. E-2 Provides and fulfills 24 hour on-call responsibility when the manager is not available. E-3 Administratively responsible for the residence in the absence of the manager. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responding to emergencies relating to the care of consumers (medical, behavioral, etc.) Utilizing appropriate on-call nursing procedures. Making appropriate administrative notifications when necessary. Completing incident reports and investigations relating to issues pertaining to the consumers such as injury, mistreatment, illness, etc. E-4 Ensures that adequate staffing is maintained according to critical limits identified for each program. E-5 Assists the manager in the orientation of new employees including house routing, rules and policies, the supervision of the consumers, programming, emergency procedures, administrative procedures, etc. E-6 Supervises direct care staff to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to each consumer. E-7 Participates with and oversees staff in the training and supervision of consumers in the acquisition of appropriate daily living skills and independent living skills by maintaining and posting scheduled work responsibilities for the consumers and the staff and ensures that all staff are trained in specific programmatic components. E-8 Ensures that meaningful activities are provided throughout their shift and approves group activities such as picnics, outings, socials, etc. E-9 Supervises staff and provides constructive criticism and assists the manager in the counseling and disciplining of direct support professional staff. E-10 Completes and updates programmatic component plans semi-annually or as necessary. E-11 Conducts as assigned: fire drills as outlined according to regulatory guidelines. E-12 Maintains a high level of confidentiality. 13- Works with case management and clinical support staff to access and provide needed services to the consumers. 14- Enforces and adheres to all safety policies. 15- Accurately completes all assigned paperwork in a timely fashion. 16- All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED, associates degree in a related field preferred. Two years of experience working with the DD population. Complete and maintain AMAP, SCIP, Adult CPR and IGHL Driver Authorization certifications, as per IGHL policy. Valid NYS drivers license Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. at least five times per hour. Enthusiastic team player that can handle stressful situation
