NY1497966 Assignment Editor/Newscast Producer Description: WKTV NewsChannel 2, the dominant #1 rated NBC, CBS, and CW affiliate in Utica, New York, is in search of a full-time weekday assignment editor and newscast producer. The position oversees our newsroom assignment desk as well as produces our 6:00 p.m. newscast Monday-Friday. The successful candidate will be a leader in the newsroom and intricately involved in day-to-day decision-making. Skill requirements: Must be proficient in broadcast writing, newscast production, and non-linear video editing. Must be social media savvy and skilled in writing for online publication. Must have excellent organizational skills and news judgment. Must be available to work odd hours, including nights, weekend, and holidays. Must be able to oversee an experienced team of anchors, reporters, and photojournalists. A college degree in journalism or communications, or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Must have a clean driving record, and pass a pre-hire drug and background screening. WKTV is an equal opportunity employer.
