GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager is responsible for meeting financial objectives while ensuring Dole's VAP supply chain is compliant with all Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), traceability, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) approved practices. This role will rely on industry knowledge and management skills to maximize efficiency in raw material sourcing, yield management, customer order attainment supply chain waste elimination and the day-to-day operations of receiving and shipping functions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
* Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective, business wide materials program designed to manage the inventory cycle accounting and utilization rates of both raw materials and finished goods packaging.
* Manages procurement of required raw materials from field to East Coast and West Coast Value Added processing plants.
* Responsible for cooling operations for all raw material received from harvest operations.
* Manages, develops, and documents processes and procedures on the inbound material flow and outbound finished product distribution to comply with all Safe Quality Foods requirements (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Practices (SOP), and company stated objectives.
* Plans and develops annual fiscal budget for procuring materials, raw materials, and labor.
* Manages the Materials Replenishment and Warehouse Teams by interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Work with the trucking companies and customer service department to assure superior service and delivery of goods.
* Responsible for Warehouse Department, ensuring all trucks are unloaded in a timely manner, and that materials are delivered to the Operations team to maximize efficiencies.
* Researches, identifies, and implements department cost saving opportunities.
* Coordinates distribution for all finished product (Direct shipments and Dole DC's).
* Coordinates with Demand Planning department to manage demand forecasts for manufactured product and production schedules to support customer demand and target inventory levels.
* Assists the procurement department by efficiently selecting vendors, placing purchase orders, and maintaining a cost-effective supply chain.
* Contributes to product lifecycle management activities by providing sound analytical support for various projects and new business opportunities.
* Communicates effectively with Harvest Operations, Plant Operations (QA and Production) and Transportation groups to streamline and improve total quality objectives.
* Leads a strong safety program to meet and/or exceed company safety goals.
* Follow all food safety requirements and GMP's as applicable for this position
* Ensures the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.
* Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
* 7-8+ years' experience in supply chain
* Experience in a produce, salad, or closely related perishable processing/manufacturing environment.
* Minimum of 4 years of management/supervisory experience, preferably in a food processing company.
* Experience with lean manufacturing and 6 sigma processes.
* Inventory management experiences a plus.
* Solid knowledge of material handling procedures, IT systems, procurement, receiving, inventory accounting, computer skills, and good manufacturing practices are all baseline expectations.
* Must also have demonstrated experience in translating business goals and strategies into work flow and processes that support success, anticipate obstacles and develop methods to overcome them; make sound decisions that balance people, product, and process issues while considering the impact across the organization; adapt interpersonal and communication skills and methods to be effective at all workforce levels; work effectively in cross-functional groups, make solid recommendations and/or decisions by examining and interpreting a wide scope of information and data

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
* Ability to travel periodically.
* Able to occasionally work in a cold environment (35o on Plant floor).


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
* Flexibility to work varied hours required, including weekends and holidays.
* Must be on call via cell phone in off-hours. Need to be able to assist in problem solving beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* Able to travel periodically.

Required Experience


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred.
* Specialties in Supply Chain (APICs or similar), Project Management (PMP), or Lean 6 Sigma are a plus.

PAY RATE:


$135,000 - $140,000 Annually
