The Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney’s incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. As a member of this team, you will have an impact on the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content.

Job Summary:

As a Principal Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategy and executing on the vision for ESPN Digital’s stats and scores experiences and sports betting products. This role requires a self-starter with strong communication skills and a willingness to work cross-functionally in an execution-oriented environment. You will be asked to formulate a strategy, gather buy-in internally and successfully execute alongside partners in design, engineering, QA and more.

In this role you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of ESPN’s digital products and have the opportunity to shape how sports fans worldwide follow live games, consume stats and scores and engage with sports betting.

This role requires deep levels of sports passion, knowledge and sports betting experience within a technology-first environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively to develop and execute the strategy for integrating sports betting across ESPN digital products.

  • Be a thought leader in reimagining how fans follow live sports on digital.

  • Define a roadmap and execute on the development of those features and improvements through an agile software development lifecycle across multiple platforms concurrently.

  • Write and communicate product requirements effectively to software engineers, designers and other stakeholders.

  • Communicate clearly and demonstrate leadership while working with myriad internal and external partners.

  • Collect and analyze data to understand usage patterns and glean insights to improve fan experiences and increase engagement.

  • Possess a deep knowledge of game mechanics, sports betting trends and behaviors and sports statistics.

  • Collaborate with business, marketing, content and other internal teams to align product priorities and strategies with business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of product management or relevant experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights to inform product decisions, measure performance, and optimize the user experience.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Exceptional product sense and a proven ability to drive product initiatives from concept to delivery.

  • Strong technical competency and understanding of app and web development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the sports media industry, including an understanding of user behaviors and expectations related to sports betting, scores and stats.

  • Passion for and working knowledge of sports strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in the sports betting industry strongly preferred.


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $ 180,700 – $ 242,300 and in NYC and Seattle is $189,300 - $253,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
