Reporting to the Director of Academic and Finance Operations of the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (SIAS), the Assistant Director of Program Operations serves as a member of the SIAS Manager’s Team and fulfills a critical role overseeing administration and operations including budgeting, grant, and research support. This position will regularly exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills to find solutions to complex academic support problems consistent with the goals and needs of the school. This position will take initiative and maintain ownership of responsibilities, using prioritization and critical thinking skills to determine appropriate solutions. SIAS is made up of 5 divisions and currently has almost 200 faculty and 30 staff and student employees, serving approximately 1200 students. The five Divisions of the School are Culture, Arts, & Communication (CAC); Politics Philosophy & Public Affairs (PPPA); Sciences and Mathematics (SAM); Social, Behavioral, and Human Studies (SBHS); and Social & Historical Studies (SHS). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Budget administration 40% -Generate and supervise updating tracking sheets -Generate and supervise a system for tracking UCar and Motorpool -Purchasing, supervising and approving transactions, processing reimbursements, and reconciliation. (May include requisition of complex equipment purchases or technology.) Administrative 20% -Develop and maintain tracking of budgets associated with student and temporary staff Management and Supervision 20% Research and Grant support 20% Minimum Requirements Additional Application Process: The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
