FORKLIFT OPERATOR

 

Converting  3p-11p but that shift is usually working 3p – 3a

Converting WIP is 3p -11p with an opportunity for Overtime 3p – 3a if needed

 

  1. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
  1. Operates fork truck to remove units from banding line and load trucks for shipping units to customer.  Keeps tally of what is shipped to customer

 

  1. SAFETY PROCEDURES:

 

  1. Read and understand SAFETY RULES & HOUSEKEEPING GUIDELINES and receive training in proper operating procedures

 

  1. Receive instructions in the following; 
  1. Fork Truck operation
  2. Hearing protection
  3. Safety shoes
  4. Moving machinery 
  5. Conveyor safety
  6. Lifting and pushing/pulling

 

  1. HOUSEKEEPING:

 

  1. Perform daily clean up of area
  2. Dump trash as needed
  3. Perform extra clan up during downtime
  4. Maintain neat & orderly warehouse

 

  1. REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Must be trained and licensed

 

  1.                    B       Read & use Factory Order, production schedule, and loading  

                                    manifest to determine loading requirements

 

C.     Ability to:

  1. Use loading manifest to know what to load
  2. Perform daily inspection of fork truck
  3. Operate fork truck in a safe manner
  4. Properly load & unload trailers
  5. Make out bill of lading
  6. Properly store units in warehouse
  7. Supply machines with stock &/or materials
  8. Properly receive materials
  9. Properly palletize or shrink wrap a unit
  10. Maintain tally of what has been loaded
  11. Identify units
  12. Handle units to avoid damage

 

  1. EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
  1. Computer input terminal
  2. Fork truck
  3. Shrink wrap equipment
  4. Hand bander

 

  1. QUALITY:
  1. Perform the following quality checks

 

  1. Visually inspect units for appearance
  2. Visually inspect units for damage

 

  1. If major problem – notify supervisor

 

  1. COMMUNICATION:
  1. Verbal
  2. Written

 

  1. EDUCATIONAL TRAINING:
  1. Ability to read and do basic math
