Job Description

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides administrative,
reception, and general office support. Functions may include customer
service and support, drafting and reviewing written communications,
preparing reports, copying and scanning documents, ordering supplies,
processing invoices, and distributing mail. Assists with the recruitment
and onboarding of new hires. Functions may include timely candidate
communication, application review, interview and onboarding preparation,
pre-employment process requirements review, posting new positions and
utilizing the applicant tracking system. Assists with the administration
of employee benefits, payroll, and leaves of absences. Functions may
include benefits communication and enrollment, distribution of employee
wellbeing information and resources, safety programs administration,
employee recognition, time sheet review, and leave of absence
management. Enters and maintains personnel data in accordance with
policy and procedures. Functions may include maintenance of confidential
personnel files and records, processing open records requests, scanning
documents for electronic data management, tracking and managing
telecommuting agreements, and completing organizational chart updates.
Assists with the administration of talent management activities such as
performance management, employee relations, succession planning and
employee retention. Functions may include, reviewing and tracking
employee improvement plans (coaching, performance or conduct related,
and development-based plans), reviewing and tracking performance
management documents, and assisting with training and development
efforts. Contributes to and supports a variety of human resources
programs and projects. Programs and special projects may include the
review of and updating the employee policy manual, research and
recommend updates to pre-employment requirements for county positions,
assist with collective bargaining interest arbitration preparation,
training and development program support and development, and assist
with the implementation of new human resources systems (talent
acquisition, learning management, performance management, and time and
attendance systems). It is unlikely an employee will perform all the
duties listed, nor is the list exhaustive in the sense it covers all the
duties that an employee may be required to perform. The examples are

job has no supervisory responsibilities. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to
readily learn programs, operations and policy with respect to general
functions performed. Ability to perform a variety of administrative
tasks. Good knowledge of the County organizational structure, policies
and procedures, regulations, functions, and services provided by Calumet
County. Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with other employees, County officials and officers and
the general public. Ability to maintain confidentiality on all aspects
