You understand who or what is connecting to the network and how to properly implement security frameworks such as Access Control and Zero Trust.
The Work:
The Network Security Engineer - Network Operations and Incident Research is responsible for ensuring the security of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves researching network incidents, implementing firewall modifications, additions, deletions, and change requests, and proactively recommending and implementing changes to enhance network security. The Security Engineer collaborates closely with the EITS team, Application Administrators, and System Administrators to troubleshoot network and security issues and optimize network performance.
Here's what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Solid understanding of network protocols, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- In-depth knowledge of network security concepts, including access control, VPN, IDS/IPS, TCP Dump and AAA.
- Proficient with network monitoring and security tools, such as Wireshark, IDS/IPS systems, and firewall management platforms.
- Experience in incident response, root cause analysis, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- One or more of the following CISSP, CCNP, CCIE or Security+

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
