POSITION: Middle School Football Coach

DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:
The Bentley Community School District is a small-size school district east of Flint in Genesee County with approximately 150 6th through 8th grade students in the middle school. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Motivate, guide and mentor student-athletes
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents and student-athletes
- Model and expect good sportsmanship behavior towards players, official’s, colleagues, parents and spectators
- Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
- Determine game strategy
- Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury
- Organize and directs practice
- Follow policies and procedures set forth by MHSAA, school district, athletic director and head coach
- Maintain current inventory of equipment
- Distribute equipment, supplies and uniforms to students
- Submit a list of award winners to the athletic director at the end of the season
- Participate in special activities ex: parent’s night, banquets, pep assemblies
- Maintain and distributes up to date rosters, eligibility information, emergency data and other related records
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous coaching experience
- Proven ability to work cooperatively with student-athletes
- Proven ability to act in a professional manner in adverse situations
- Advanced knowledge of the sport and its techniques
- Willingness to be involved in all aspects of building a successful program
