Senior Account Clerk - (Finance) - SUNY Broome Community College is seeking qualified applicants for Senior Account Clerk in the Finance Office - Payroll. The Senior Account Clerk reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor. This position is represented by the ESPA bargaining unit. This is an in-person, full-time, 12-month position, with a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. The Senior Account Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll accounts and subsequent payment to employees on a bi-weekly basis. Processes time sheets, runs FLAC to pull in contract assignments, reviews reports and transmits files (3 retirement systems, direct deposit). Sets up new job assignments from personnel documents, contracts, and student employment forms. Makes appropriate changes to jobs concerning new rates of pay. Processes changes to benefits and deductions. Maintains and reconciles employee leave balances and sick bank balances. Checks for accuracy of computations and completeness of payroll documents. Reviews various payroll reports. Prepares payroll reports for senior management. Assists employees with payroll related questions. Contacts employees and /or supervisors to obtain additional information. Requirements: Graduation from a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree or higher in accounting, business, or a closely related field; OR Completion of 60 credit hours at a New York State registered or regionally accredited college or university which must have included at least twelve credit hours in accounting or bookkeeping; OR Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of experience maintaining financial accounts and records; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above. Additional Information: The hourly rate for this position is $18.80. Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
