The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Level 6 Apprentice Civil Engineer to start in Summer/Autumn 2024 to join our team based in Reading or High Wycombe.
Water is one of our most precious natural assets, our work is key to help provide innovative sustainable solutions that balances our environmental impact.
Your day-to-day role includes various engineering and design activities, whilst supporting senior engineers with report writing, evaluation risks and problem solving the environmental impact.
You will be exposed to various types of projects:
- Producing drawings
- Design calculations
- Flood alleviation
- Pollution management schemes
During your 5-year engineering apprenticeship, you’ll have plenty of contact with industry leading experts such as mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure the right solution is being delivered as projects progress. Find out more about your team’s projects here - Thames Water London Plan 2100.

What will you gain?
You’ll be learning whilst you earn as you study for your degree in Civil Engineering. Expanding your knowledge by attending university on weekly day release at London Southbank University.

About you:
For our apprenticeships no previous experience is required, if you are self-motivated, an excellent communicator and curious to learn more than this could be for you.
What you’ll need:
- 5 GCSEs Level 4 (Grace C) or above including Maths and English
- 3 A Levels at BBC, totalling 112 UCAS points, one of which must be Maths
or
- BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering – DDM to include an engineering subject and a Merit in Maths (128 UCAS points)
