Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Registration Specialist. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the registration and discharge process for patients receiving care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and trauma-informed patient experience during registration and check-out.
- Accurately collect, verify, and upload necessary documentation.
- Confirm insurance coverage, calculate patient charges, and review benefit-related information with patients, including Primary Care Provider (PCP) changes.
- Gather and report demographic data to health plans as required.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up to request consultation notes when necessary.
- Ensure transportation logistics are coordinated effectively and assist with operating the mobile medical van when required.
- Manage assorted paperwork and maintain a well-organized registration process.
- Monitor and replenish essential office and medical supplies as needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Attributes:
- Professional, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred bilingual ability in Spanish (reading and writing).
- CPR certification, as well as possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic office equipment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and related software.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of healthcare-related processes, such as insurance verification and appointment scheduling.
