Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, communications or other related field and one year of real estate experience. Experience in the acquisition of right of way, title research, appraisal and mapping preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• The ability and willingness to quickly learn and understand a broad range of real estate issues unique to Evergy
• Possess skill in oral and written communications, including the ability to prepare clear concise reports and presentations
• Possess problem solving, negotiation and thorough use of tact, logic, creativity, assertiveness, sensitivity and effective listening
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, analyze and make decisions, and process information in an organized, timely and accurate manner
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing technologies and environments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software required
• Proficient in PeopleSoft preferred
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Testing:
Successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions: The primary working condition is an office environment (3 days per week) with the option to work from home (Monday and Friday – subject to change). Travel within the service territory may be required several times per month. Company fleet vehicles are generally available for company travel and reimbursement is offered for use of personal vehicles. Travel may include inspection of project corridors, meeting with landowners and other stakeholders in the field and in third-party offices. Overnight travel (typically 1 night) may be required 1-2 times per year, generally within Evergy’s service territory. There may be optional opportunities to attend conferences and meetings throughout the United States (typically not more than one per year). Other minor or extremely rare exceptions may apply.
