Job Description
DESCRIPTION: Under limited supervision by the City Manager, is responsible for System Administration
and for supervising and managing IT staff to ensure that technical solutions in support of software and
hardware, operating systems, advanced PC applications, and Internet and website services are properly
met. Detailed knowledge of local and wide area network hardware and software, demonstrating
knowledge of network technology, including server and workstation configuration, operating system
installation, and maintenance.
CLASSIFICATION: This is an exempt, full-time, classified at will position with full benefits that serves at
the pleasure and will of the City Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may

TASKS:
Ensure that the department and City are up to date on information systems, cyber security and
technological infrastructure.
Maintain the City’s network and systems and track statistics on the efficiency of those systems;
propose changes that will advance the City’s infrastructure.
Manage and develop the IT Staff, manage long-term IT projects, assist with daily IT tasks.
Monitor and maintain the City’s network, cybersecurity and all technology needs.
Develop and update policies and procedure documentation for Information Systems and
Cybersecurity for the IT department and the City.
Manage all IT contracts and consultants.
Provide project status updates and monitor project goals.
Create an IT Budget and Capital plan that maintains and improves the IT Infrastructure for the
City and follows the City’s strategic plan.
Identify and manage potential technology upgrades and improvements and create plans and
procedures to implement, assist IT staff in the implementation of the upgrades.
Develop training programs for City staff on Cybersecurity, website maintenance and IT programs.
Track the IT departments efficiencies and ongoing cybersecurity and IT changes.
Actively support and uphold the City’s stated mission and values.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to City staff.
Monitors and maintains the City’s help desk ticket system and insures prompt service and
solutions.
Management of City websites and website maintenance.
Actively supports and upholds the City’s mission and values.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
