JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position will be scheduled during the week; 4:15
p.m. to 8:15 p.m., and weekends 1:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. 12 hours per
week, every other weekend, and every other holiday. WHO WE ARE: Wood

of Classification The purpose of positions in this classification is
providing efficient operation of the switchboard and lobby. The work is
performed under the supervision of the Health Information Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal
for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or
all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. 1. Operate the
switchboard in an efficient manner: directing all incoming calls to the
appropriate person as soon as possible; if a call cannot be placed,
taking an accurate message and directing it to the appropriate person;
assist staff/patients in placing calls; immediately contact maintenance
personnel or department manager when problems arise with the switchboard
system. 2. Maintain control of the facility vehicle schedule and keys
and transfer keys and clipboard to the Admissions Unit at the end of
every shift. 3. Monitor lobby area. Greet, screen and direct all
visitors to appropriate areas. The appropriate staff will be notified of
all visitors to the facility before visitors are directed to a
destination in the building. Monitor residents and/or situations in the
lobby, with notification of the appropriate person/unit should problems
arise. 4. Turn on/off lights and lock specified areas of the building at
the beginning/end of the shift. 5. Assist in the daily routine and
maintenance of the lobby and reception areas. Ensure that all areas of
the lobby and desk are neat, clean and orderly at all times. Water lobby
plants per schedule. Assist in sales/payment of meal tickets and
articles for sale in the lobby area. 6. Perform other clerical tasks as
needed (sorting, calculating, collating, stapling, proofreading, etc.)
7. Use interpersonal skills effectively to build and maintain
cooperative working relationships. 8. Follow general policies and
procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the main lobby and Norwood
Health Center in general. Report to work on time and as scheduled,
allowing transitional time for communication between the daytime and
evening receptionist. All absences from work will be cleared through the
Health Information Supervisor with enough time given so a substitute can
be found. 9. Attends mandatory training. 10. Responsible to know and
practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a
safe and prescribed manner. 11. Any other duties as may be assigned.
\*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -At least one year of
related clerical experience preferred. -Previous reception and/or
telephone experience preferred. -Must be able to maintain a pleasant
disposition at all times. -Knowledge of computer data entry. -Ability to
work independently and with minimal supervision. -Able to demonstrate
flexibility with assignments. -Ability to concentrate. -Accuracy is
essential in all aspects of job responsibilities. -Able to exercise
judgement, especially where clientele are involved. -Excellent listening
skills, written and oral communication skills, including English usage,
grammar, punctuation and style. Basic equipment used: Computer,
keyboard, mouse and monitor; telephone; calculator; copy machine and
