What you need to be a Quality Assurance Technician:
High school education or equivalent (required for reading, verbal, quantitative, and writing skills)
Prior work experience in quality assurance or food safety is preferred
Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and OSHA requirements
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in decision-making
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to read, identify, calculate, and record data accurately
Computer knowledge preferred or willingness to learn
Ability to work overtime, irregular hours, or shift work at the discretion of the supervisor or management
Physical ability to stand and walk 90% of the time
Comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned environment with seasonal temperature variations
Ability to work in a potentially noisy environment that may require hearing protection
Experience using a computer workstation

What you’ll do as a Quality Assurance Technician:
Follow all work instructions based on your department’s SOP, JSA, SSOP, etc.
Report problems or concerns as they arise to your lead, supervisor, or management personnel
Complete department-required paperwork as assigned
Operate testing equipment
Ensure adherence to all customer specifications
Participate in harvest/seasonal processing activity, which may involve shift rotation as needed
Positively participate and facilitate cross-training within the plant
Be flexible and willing to participate in special projects or any changes that may arise
Perform any other duties assigned
Produce food products that are safe, wholesome, and meet established quality specifications
Immediately report any incidents or situations that may compromise food safety or quality to a supervisor, lead, or plant management
