Defibtech is seeking a Manager of Field Service Operations based on site at our manufacturing facility in Branford, CT. This position is a hands-on operations leader responsible for planning and execution of after sales support of Defibtech and affiliate products including technical support, product troubleshooting and repair, intercompany and outside service depots, design for after sale support plans and financial performance of the department. 


 
Core Responsibilities: 


Leads a team dedicated to technical support, service administration and instrument repair, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Ensures departmental capability in providing level two technical support to distributors, intercompany and outside service depots, and end users, and, as necessary, coordinates additional technical assistance with Engineering subject matter experts.
Ensures departmental capability in providing diagnostic and repair services for class II & III medical devices.
Establishes and provides ongoing support to service depots as installed base grows worldwide.
Provides and maintains a stock of refurbished devices in support of sales and service activities.
Creates a perpetual material plan in support of company service objectives that enables the supply chain planners to provide the appropriate quantities of spare parts.
Provides leadership and active participation in the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including but not limited to failure analysis and trending and recommendations for disposition.
Responsible for budget responsibility for Service department activities.
Participates in multifunctional teams that review and act on customer complaint data.
Represents the needs of after-sale support with respect to planning and developing new products with intercompany and outside service depots.
Provides diagnostic and rework capabilities to the production departments.
Represents the service department with respect to Quality management System (QMS) and Change Management processes.
Leads and implements process performance improvements within service and technical support procedures to gain efficiency and cost savings.
Writes and implements service procedures and processes.
Demonstrates Defibtech’s values on the job. Promotes and participates in continuous improvement.
Actively supports compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FDA, Quality Systems Regulations, safety regulations and applicable statutes).
Provides oversight, supervision, and direction for assigned employees and functional teams.
Provides leadership and communications to create an environment that fosters engagement.
Maintains metric driven leadership and decision-making approach to ensure that the service function and each team member is supporting company goals and objectives
Provides constructive and timely coaching and feedback to support a learning culture.
Supervises and manages employees in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. 


Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
At least one year of management experience is required.
Experience in a highly regulated industry such as medical device manufacturing is preferred.
Experience with electronic device manufacture, highly preferred. 
Prior experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment, highly desired.
Skilled in using ERP and Service Depot scheduling and control systems.
Ability to analyze processes and systems and implement changes to drive cost improvements or efficiencies.
Demonstrated record of creative problem solving and an ability to thrive in a fast-changing, fast-paced environment. 
Strong work ethic and self-starter able to contribute both individually and as a leader with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:


The primary work location is based within office and light manufacturing settings. 
Travel up to 25% required as needed.
Physical demands are primarily sedentary with frequent sitting, standing and short durations of walking throughout location(s) and lifting to 10lbs.
