Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions Inc., a Taylor Company,isseekinga Systems Engineer to assist in building, operating, maintaining, and monitoring cloud infrastructure and internal data center infrastructure to support existing and new/future application and microservices environments.
Your Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor all infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Identify and solve infrastructure-related problems
Improve operations by automating tasks and/or creating scripts or tools
Help monitor internal and cloud systems for availability, performance, reliability, security, etc. using tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Solarwinds Orion
Provide first line operational support and troubleshooting and liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Conduct high-level root-cause analysis of service interruptions and establish preventive measures
Work closely with the development, project management, business analyst, IT and architecture teams
Support CI/CD pipelines (build, maintain, troubleshoot) within Azure DevOps
Document and build best practices
You Must Have:
Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories
Strong database and SQL language skills
Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience
Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
Experience with monitoring systems, including Solarwinds, Azure Application Insights, and others
Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall development
Strong understanding of web-hosting technologies such as IIS, TCP/IP and networking, along with other web administration tools
Good networking knowledge (Vnets/Subnets, firewalls, load balancers)
We would also prefer:
Bachelor's degree in, computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of relevant experience
Full understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodology
Broad knowledge of Azure services
Azure B2C knowledge a plus
Professional certifications a plus
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and presentation abilities
