Job Summary

Previous hotel experience preferred but not required. This position is 3pm to 11pm, 2 to 3 days a week, and must have some weekend availability. Greet all guests with a smile and offer great customer service. Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible. Assist in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations. Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel. Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests. Coordinate room status updates with the maintenance department by notifying maintenance of room issues and checking the status of unavailable rooms. Monitor guest services email for guest requests and communications and respond accordingly. Take same-day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Know cancellation procedures. Process guest check-outs. Follows procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by guests. Uses proper telephone etiquette. Uses proper mail, package, and message handling procedures. Reads and initials the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel. Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager. Knows all safety and emergency procedures, is aware of accident prevention policies.
