An assistant instructor is responsible for maintaining and implementing
various equine-assisted programs (TR, ES, EAL, etc.). Assistant
instructors will undergo a review of duties and job performance every six
months with the senior instructor. The senior instructor will manage assistant
instructors. Working closely with the senior instructor, the assistant
instructor will be responsible for the following duties which include but are
not limited to the following:
• General maintenance and care of stable and equipment
• General care of program horses
• Assist with the maintenance of equine records
• Assist with the implementation of programs as listed but not limited
to: therapeutic riding, equine mental health and learning, equine
assisted learning
• Assist in the training of volunteers
• Assist with the maintenance of established safety procedures
• Assist with the maintenance of program records and evaluations of
participants
• Maintain communication with program participant
• Attend meetings as needed
