Job Description

 
Anticipated period of employment: 03/01/2024 -12/15/2024. This job requires a minimum of 1 months of prior experience working in a field-grown tree and shrub nursery. Workers are required to work both inside structure and outside in various weather elements. May work with bedding plants, shrubs, small trees. Duties for plant include propagating, working on potting line, filing cold frames or hot beds, transplanting products to prepare areas, re-potting into large containers. Shrubs and small trees are transplanted as needed to promote growth and harvest when applicable. Will wrap harvested bare root trees with burlap. Sod must be kept watered, fertilized, and mowed, cut into pre-size pieces & staked on pallets or baled when harvested. Care of horticultural products includes weeding, pruning, mulching, raking, irrigating, fertilizing, and other media growth activities. Products must be tied, bunched, wrapped, priced, and tagged in preparation for market.
