Division Information
PACCAR's Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
Requisition Summary
Position reports to the Information Technology Controller and is responsible for managing and performing a wide range of accounting functions with an emphasis on general and project accounting. Responsibilities include month-end closing and reporting, forecasting and expense management. The ideal candidate will interact closely with various department managers within the Information Technology division and personnel throughout the Controllers' organization.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
Manage: Manage the day-to-day accounting functions related to general accounting, project accounting, accounts receivable / payable, payroll and fixed assets. Recruit, supervise, mentor and motivate a staff of seven.
Business Partner: Actively engage with Operations personnel to improve processes, actively support the management team, serving as the Controller when the Controller is off-site. Work with Department Managers to ensure appropriate spending levels are achieved, offering alternatives to meet spending goals.
General Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate completion of analytical reports and accounts reconciliations. Prepare and review various management reports including reports containing global consolidated information. Responsible for ensuring accurate accounting and reporting including quarterly analysis prepared for PACCAR Corporate Consolidations, semi-annual SOX testing, and annual ICAP testing.
Project Accounting: Oversee the accounting related to capital projects, including review of proposed quarterly submissions, project costs / savings details and return on investment (ROI). Coordinate post-audit of significant projects to validate ROI.
Forecast: Manage the monthly forecasts including variance analysis. Facilitate the annual overhead budget process, including presentation preparation to senior executive management.
Month-End: Manage the month-end cycle by coordinating workflow, preparing and reviewing various journal entries, analyzing key accounts and reporting results to the financial reporting group. Review of department expenditures and the actual to budget comparison. Prepare executive financial comments.
Special Projects: Define, initiate and direct special projects including system implementations, robotic process automation, and process improvements utilizing Six Sigma tools, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum of eight (8) plus years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility required (SAP experience a plus).
Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills required.
Accomplished leadership and supervisory skills, emphasizing continuous improvement Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Strong organizational skills required with the ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting non-negotiable deadlines.
Attention to detail with a "big picture" focus.
Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
Education/Training
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA or MBA required.
