Responsibilities
Reviews patient chart for orders and preps orders for collection. Identifies pre-authorizations or insurance flags and completes appropriate authorization procedures or consents (ABN/Waiver) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
Properly identifies patients for blood collection.
Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
Properly labels specimens according to regulatory policies.
Maintain specimen integrity throughout specimen collection and processing.
Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures that all supplies are viable before using for patient collection.
Works with the team to insure compliance with COLA & CLIA regulations. Adheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures.
Maintains a clean working environment and restocks the phlebotomy and laboratory area as needed.
Maintains confidently of all information related to patients and medical staff.
Qualifications
Position requires 2 or more years' experience.
High school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
License from an accredited school or phlebotomy recommended.
Position requires traveling to multiple clinics.

Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.
